What this preset does
These are the starting values when you open this page. They are Makerfern's defaults, chosen to be sensible for the job, not a manufacturer specification. Every one is adjustable in the settings panel.

Making the sticker
- Drop the design, set the sticker width, and adjust the border until it looks right.
- Download SVG, or the 300 dpi PNG if your software prefers an image for printing.
- In your cutting software, flatten the art onto the border so the border becomes the cut line, then print and cut.
Why the border has no holes
A plain offset around a donut shape produces a ring with a hole, and your machine will cut the hole too. A sticker should be one piece. Makerfern fills every enclosed gap in the border before tracing, so the cut is always a single outer path.
Why print-then-cut needs a margin
A printer and a cutter never line up perfectly. The border hides that: if the blade lands a fraction off, it cuts through white border rather than through your art. A wider border hides more error but makes a chunkier sticker, so 2–4 mm is a common range to try. If the result shows an unwanted edge, use the white-border diagnosis to separate offset, bleed, image background and calibration. If a Silhouette machine stops before cutting, follow the registration-mark reading checks.
Questions
Can the border be a color other than white?
Yes. Click the border's swatch in the layer list and pick any color.
Is there a maximum print size?
Makerfern doesn't limit it, but cutting software often does for print then cut. Check your machine's current limit in its own help pages.
Can I sell what I make with it?
Yes. Everything Makerfern makes is yours to use and sell, free or Pro, as long as you have the right to use what you start from: your own photos and drawings, or pictures whose license allows it; somebody else's art or characters only with their permission. Makerfern adds no watermark and takes no rights in your file. One Pro covers every tool: there is no per-tool plan.
