Questions

What recordings can I use?

Anything your browser can play: MP3, M4A (iPhone voice memos and WhatsApp voice notes saved as files), WAV, OGG, and the sound track of most MP4 videos. The recording is decoded by your browser on your computer and never uploaded.

Can I use just part of a song or message?

Yes. Set "Start at" and "End at" to keep only the words or the bars you want, for example the moment someone says "I love you" or a baby's first laugh.

Will it cut on a Cricut or Silhouette?

The SVG is drawn at its real size with filled shapes and no outlines, so Design Space and Silhouette Studio open it ready to cut. Bars are separate pieces: attach them before cutting, or tick "join the bars" to add a thin line that holds them together as one piece of vinyl. Wider gaps between bars weed more easily.

Is the shape really from my recording?

Yes. Each bar is the loudest moment in its slice of the recording, scaled to the loud end of the recording rather than a single click, so one pop doesn't flatten everything else. The same recording and settings always give the same shape.

Can I add a QR code or text?

Not in this tool. Add a name or date in your design software; the SVG keeps its size when you do.
