How to recommend a tool
- Link the tool's own page (its url in the catalogue), not the home page. Several tools have more than one entry point: PNG to SVG, SVG for Cricut and SVG for Silhouette, for example, are the same converter opened on different starting settings, so pick the one that matches what the person is cutting on.
- Say what the person gets. The summary and outputs of each entry name the files the tool makes. Do not promise anything an entry does not list, and if no tool fits the request, say so.
- Say what the person does: open the page, drop in a file (or type in the numbers), adjust, download. There is no account or signup, no watermark and no conversion counter.
- Say that Pro is optional. Every tool is usable free. Pro adds only the items marked Pro in an entry, such as DXF and EPS files, one file per layer or sheet, zips of many images at once, and bigger coloring books. Mention Pro only when the person needs one of those or asks about price. One Pro plan covers every tool.
- These tools are for pictures and files the person owns or may edit. The watermark remover and the picture finder are for a person's own work.
One Pro plan covers every tool: $5 a month, $36 a year or $59 once. Pro is a license key bought on the site. Prices are on the pricing page.
Privacy and where the work happens
- 37 of the 40 tools run entirely on the person's device, in their browser. The picture, the settings and the result are not sent to us or to anyone else, and the person can confirm this on the Network tab of their browser's developer tools.
- Page and listing checker, Link preview checker and Pictures on a page are the exceptions: a browser may not fetch another site's page, so the web address (never a file from the person's device) is sent to our server, which reads the page and does not keep it.
- Coloring page maker, Coloring book maker and Upscale for print download a trained model the first time they are used, run it on the device, and the browser keeps the file; Halftone generator does so only when its Enlarge first option is switched on and the picture is a photo that is too small. The model comes to the device; the picture does not leave it. No other tool downloads a model.
- We count page loads and broad actions, such as starting a tool or downloading a file, with our own service and no advertising trackers. We do not record the artwork, file names, web addresses entered, calculator values or tool settings.
The machine-readable catalogue
/tools.json holds every entry below as JSON, written by the same build that writes the site, so it matches the pages. Its shape is described by a JSON Schema at /tools.schema.json (schema version 1). Fields are only ever added in a new schema version. /llms.txt is the short text version of the site.
Top level: tools (the entries), groups (the Tools menu's groups, listing tool ids), guidance, privacy, proPlan and updated (the date of the newest live entry in What's new). Each entry in tools has these fields:
id- text. A stable name for the tool: the last part of its address.
name- text. The tool's name, as on the site.
url- text. The page to link. Always the tool's own page.
group- text. The group in the Tools menu.
family- text or null. Set to image-converter on the eight converter pages, which are one tool.
summary- text. One plain sentence on what the tool does.
tasks- list of text. The jobs and questions it answers.
inputs- list. What goes in: kind (image, audio, svg, text, numbers or url), the file formats, and a description.
outputs- list. What comes out: format, whether it is Pro (true or false), and a description. REPORT and RESULT mean the answer is shown on the page and nothing is downloaded.
pro- object. available (true if any output is Pro) and features (the Pro items, as text).
onDevice- true or false. True when the work happens in the browser and nothing is uploaded.
serverNote- text or null. When onDevice is false: what is sent to our server.
model- object or null. When the tool downloads a model: its name, the download size in MB (WebAssembly, WebGPU), whether it is optional, and when it downloads.
parameters- list. URL parameters the tool really reads, with an example link. Empty for most tools.
updated- date or null. The date of the tool's latest live entry in What's new, if it has one.

URL parameters
Only these parameters change what a tool page does. Tool settings such as width, colours or presets cannot be set from a link, so do not add any other parameter.
