   Coloring page maker: a new drawing engine that keeps more of the subject

   A line-drawing model now draws the photo, keeping more of the subject, such as whiskers, faces and fine detail, in clean even lines.

   • The drawing model runs in your browser, like every other tool here; the photo still never leaves your computer.
   • Busy photos such as fur close-ups can still use the earlier engine, picked for each photo.

   Fix a coloring page by hand: pen, eraser, straight line and undo

   Draw, erase or add straight lines on the finished coloring page, with undo, and your edits are in every download, SVG included.

   • Edits are kept in picture pixels, so they survive changes to Detail or the drawing style.
   • In the SVG the eraser really removes the vector lines it crosses, so a cutter or plotter skips them too.

   Tumbler template maker: cup presets, true-shape placement and a print-ready PDF

   Start from a common cup size, place a logo at its true shape, and download a print-ready PDF, split over two sheets when it is too wide.

   • Starting sizes for 20 oz skinny, 20 and 30 oz tapered, 40 oz with a handle, 11 and 15 oz mugs and a 16 oz glass can, to measure against yours.
   • A design can be placed at its true shape, at the size and spot you choose, or stretched or cropped to fill the whole wrap.
   • The template comes as a PDF, a 300 dpi PNG and a layered SVG, with the cut line, the print area, centre and quarter marks and a one-inch square.
   • It works out how sharp your file will print at that size and warns you when it will look soft.

   Three new tools: fabric repeat planner, registration films and box dividers

   Plan matching fabric panels from a print repeat, make screen-print films with shared registration targets, and cut slotted box dividers.

   • Fabric repeat planner: where to cut panels that show the same motif in the same place, and how much fabric to buy, in millimetres or inches.
   • Registration film: identical circle-and-cross targets on every film, one shared artwork origin and a 50 mm bar to check the print size.
   • Box divider generator: crossing strips with half-depth slots for a grid insert, sized to the inside of a box you already have.

   Halftone generator no longer runs out of memory on large prints

   Printed width now stops at 24 in, and very large prints are made at a lower dpi with a note, instead of the tab running out of memory.

   • Typing a width such as 100 in used to ask the browser for a 30,000 × 22,500 px image, and the tab ran out of memory.
   • Output is capped at 60 megapixels. The dots are sized by the line count, so they print the same size either way.
   • The width box waits for a whole number while you type.

   Paint by numbers: bigger regions by default, so kits are easier to paint

   Narrowest region now starts at 5 mm (was 3 mm) and Simplify at 3 (was 1), so a photo gives fewer tiny spaces to paint.

   • On our cat test photo the kit went from 161 regions to 92.
   • Both settings are still there, if you want a finer kit.

   Coloring book PDFs print accented letters correctly

   A title with a letter such as é used to print as garbled characters (é) in the PDF; it now prints as typed.

   • The same fix covers every PDF the site makes, including word searches, posters and templates.

   Five new tools: poster splitter, KDP cover, word search, soundwave art and exposure test

   Print a picture across many sheets, size a KDP cover, make word searches, turn a recording into cut-ready art, and test screen exposure.

   • Poster splitter: one picture across Letter, A4 or A3 sheets with overlap, cut lines and an assembly map, as one PDF.
   • KDP cover template: spine width and cover size from trim, page count and paper, with a 300 dpi guide and a cover PDF.
   • Word search maker: printable puzzles with answer keys, and whole puzzle books.
   • Soundwave art: a voice note or song as an SVG for a cutter or laser, or a 300 dpi PNG.
   • Exposure calculator: a screen-printing test film of timed zones and the schedule to expose it by.

   Coloring pages in two styles, picked for each photo

   Choose Detailed lines or Clean shapes for a coloring page; the tool picks the one that suits each photo, and you can switch.

   • Detailed lines keeps faces and fine detail. Clean shapes traces the outlines of shapes and leaves out texture such as fur and wood grain.
   • The choice is made once per photo, so moving a slider does not flip the style.
   • The coloring book maker has the same choice.

    Background remover now cuts out photos, with Keep and Remove brushes

    Photos of people, pets and products now get a subject cut-out with soft hair edges, and Keep or Remove brush strokes fix any part.

    • A photo is detected automatically; logos and artwork on a plain backdrop use the artwork mode as before.
    • Paint Keep over a part of the subject that went missing, or Remove over background that stayed.
    • It still runs in your browser, and the photo is not uploaded.

    SVG checker no longer stops on a PNG or JPG

    Dropping a PNG or JPG used to stop the checker with an error; it now says what kind of file it is and links to the converter.

    Finger-jointed laser boxes, jigsaw cut lines, DTF gang sheets, photos dithered for laser engraving, and cross-stitch or bead charts.

    • Laser box maker: finger joints with kerf allowed for, and a lid if you want one.
    • Jigsaw puzzle maker: cut lines for a laser or Cricut, with an optional photo printed to match.
    • DTF gang sheet builder: designs packed on a 22 in roll as a 300 dpi PNG.
    • Photo to laser engraving: dithered at the dpi your laser burns, with material presets.
    • Pixel pattern maker: cross-stitch, bead and pixel charts with a symbol key, as a PDF.

    Pictures sent from the Chrome extension now open in the converter

    Sending a picture to Cut file from the Chrome extension used to open an empty page; the picture now arrives in the converter.

    Coloring page maker: cleaner lines from small photos, and an SVG download

    Texture smoothing now keeps edges instead of smearing faces, small photos are enlarged before drawing, and pages download as SVG too.

    • Small photos are drawn at a 1,200 px working size, so lines are no longer stair-stepped.
    • The SVG has smooth traced lines, for cutting machines, plotters and editing.

    Three new tools: paint by numbers, multi-layer stencils and coloring books

    Turn a photo into a numbered paint kit or a set of registered stencil layers, or many photos into one printable coloring book.

    • Paint by numbers: regions measured in millimetres at the printed size, with the numbers placed where they fit.
    • Multi-layer stencil maker: 2 to 4 tones, with bridges and the same registration holes on every sheet.
    • Coloring book maker: up to 12 pictures free, as one Letter or A4 PDF.
