Free coloring book maker from your pictures
Turn a folder of photos or drawings into one printable coloring book PDF, free for up to 12 pictures and made in your browser, so nothing is uploaded unless you have a page redrawn with the optional Cloud AI. Title page, one picture per page, page numbers, and blank backs so markers do not bleed through. Pages are line art, or grayscale shading for coloured pencils.

From camera roll to a book they can colour
The coloring page maker turns one photo into one page. This does the whole book: every picture is turned into line art with the same settings, laid out on the page size you choose with even margins, and written as a single PDF you can print at home or send to a printer.
A grayscale coloring book from your own photos
Pick Grayscale as the Photo style and every photo becomes a page of soft grey shading to colour over, the kind of page grayscale coloring books are made of: you colour on top, usually with coloured pencils, and the light and shadow are already there. One look covers the whole book: Pale, Medium or Deep. Pictures that are already drawings stay line art. Photos with clear light and shadow make the best pages: a pet in window light, a face, a flower.
What goes in the PDF
- A title page with your title, a subtitle and, if you like, a “this book belongs to” line.
- One picture per page, fitted inside the margins without being stretched. Wide pictures can be turned a quarter turn to fill a portrait page, and an inside margin leaves room for the binding.
- Page numbers, and blank backs for marker-friendly printing.
- Letter, A4, 8 × 10, 8.5 × 8.5 square or 6 × 9 pages.
Pictures that make good pages
One clear subject on a plain background: a pet on the floor, a child's toy, a house against the sky. Busy backgrounds turn into busy pages; clear them first with the background remover if they are plain enough, or crop in close. Drawings and existing line art are detected and used as they are.
The step-by-step, including printing double-sided, is in how to make a coloring book from your own photos.
Redraw a page with Cloud AI (optional)
Every page above is made on this computer. A busy photo (fur, grass, a cluttered room) can come out as a busy page, so each photo page in the list also has Redraw with Cloud AI: an AI model draws a new, simpler page from that photo, and it takes that page's place in the book. It is a redrawing, so it can change a face or invent a detail; Back to the on-device page puts the traced page back. A photo is sent only when you press the button on its page, tick the consent box and press Send; 3 free Cloud pages per visitor in all (shared with the other Cloud tools), and the book itself stays free for up to 12 pictures.
Questions
Can I make a coloring book from my own photos?
Yes. Drop in the photos: each one is turned into line art (or, with the Grayscale style, into soft grey shading to colour over), one picture per page, and the whole book downloads as one PDF with an optional title page, page numbers and a “this book belongs to” line. Pictures that are already drawings are used as they are.
Can I make a grayscale coloring book?
Yes. Set Photo style to Grayscale and pick one look for the whole book: Pale, Medium or Deep. Each photo becomes soft grey shading to colour over with coloured pencils, and pictures that are already drawings stay line art. It is free for up to 12 pictures like any book here, with the same title page, page numbers and blank backs.
What about lettering, logos and silhouettes that print solid black?
The Solid areas setting covers the whole book: Auto outlines the big black shapes of each picture (script lettering, silhouettes, logos) when they are most of its ink so they can be coloured in, and keeps small black details such as eyes; Keep black and Outline to colour in force one way for every page. It applies to pages the drawing engine makes, not to pictures you tell the book to use as they are.
Is it really free?
A book of up to 12 pictures is free, with no watermark and no account. Pro takes up to 100 pictures in one book, and covers every other tool on the site.
What are the blank pages for?
Markers soak through ordinary paper. With “a blank page behind every drawing” switched on, each picture is printed on its own sheet with nothing on the back, so one child's masterpiece does not ruin the next page.
Can I sell a coloring book I make here?
The line art is yours to use. Whether you can sell it depends on the pictures you started from: your own photos and drawings, yes; somebody else's photos or characters, only with their permission. If you are printing through a print-on-demand service, set its current trim size and margins here, and check its rules for the interior file.
Are my photos uploaded?
Not by default. The line art is found and the PDF is written by code running on this page. The first time, your browser downloads the line-drawing model from this site (about 12 to 15 MB) and keeps it for next time; your pictures are not sent anywhere. That is why there is no counter on the free book.
The one exception is the optional Redraw with Cloud AI button on a page: if you press it, tick the consent box and press Send, a smaller copy of that one page's photo is sent to our server and to Cloudflare Workers AI to be redrawn (details in the next question). Leave it alone and nothing is uploaded.
What does "Redraw with Cloud AI" on a page do?
It is an optional way to make one page of the book, off by default. Instead of tracing that page's photo on this computer, an AI model (FLUX.2 klein, run by Cloudflare Workers AI) redraws it as line art, which can make a cleaner, simpler page from a busy photo. It starts only when you press the button on that page, tick the consent box and press Send. Then your browser makes a smaller copy of the photo with the camera data (such as the location) removed and sends it to our server, which passes it to Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) to be redrawn. The drawing comes back to this page and takes that page's place in the book; Back to the on-device page puts the traced page back. Because the AI redraws the photo, faces and small details can change, so look at the page before you print. We do not keep the photo or the result, and Cloudflare says it does not train on content processed by Workers AI. You get 3 free Cloud pages in all, shared with the other Cloud tools here, and Pro includes more of them; the book on this device stays free for up to 12 pictures. It is for people 18 or older, for photos you have the right to use and of people who are fine with it. See the privacy policy.
